Freedom in Christ Counseling
Insurance and Payment
Ask about using your coverage, paying privately, and what to expect before your first appointment.
Accepted Insurance
Plans We Accept
Freedom in Christ Counseling accepts the five insurance plans listed below. Having one of these plans is a starting point for a conversation about your benefits, not a promise of coverage.
- Aetna
- Anthem
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
- UnitedHealthcare
Check Your Benefits
Coverage depends on your plan. We check your benefits together before your first session.
Ask Josh about the coverage questions you have when you call. Reviewing your benefits before an appointment can help you understand the payment arrangement you are considering.
Private Pay and Superbills
Private pay is also available if you prefer that option. Fees are discussed during the free consultation, rather than published here.
You can request a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Check your plan’s requirements before counting on reimbursement, because availability depends on your insurance benefits.
What a Session Includes
Men’s counseling and couples and marriage counseling sessions each last 55 minutes. Appointments are scheduled weekly or every other week, with practical tools to use between meetings.
Christian men age 18 and up can meet in person in Dayton or by telehealth while located in Ohio. Couples meet together in person at the Dayton office only. Josh Reed, LPCC-S, combines licensed clinical counseling with a biblical worldview.
Before You Begin
Start with the questions about payment.
The free 15-minute consultation is where fees and coverage get answered. You can ask about accepted insurance, private pay, or a superbill while describing what brings you to counseling.
This first conversation lets you consider both the counseling and the payment arrangement before choosing a session. Call or email Josh to arrange it.
Cancellation Policy
Please give at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full session fee.
If your schedule changes, contact Josh about the appointment. The notice period applies whether you are meeting at the office or by telehealth.
Payment Questions
Does accepting my insurance mean every session is covered?
Coverage depends on your specific plan. We check your benefits together before your first session, so bring your coverage questions to the consultation rather than assuming what your plan will pay.
Can I choose private pay?
Yes. Private pay is available alongside accepted insurance. Josh discusses fees during the free consultation, giving you a chance to ask about payment before deciding whether to schedule.
Can I request a superbill?
Superbills are available on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Your plan determines whether reimbursement is available; a superbill does not promise that your insurer will reimburse you.
