Men’s Identity and Spiritual Growth

When being dependable becomes a role you cannot step out of, there is room to talk about the man behind it.

Who It Is For

Who You Are Beneath the Role

You may be the reliable husband, the capable employee, or the man everyone expects to have an answer at church. Keeping up that role can leave little room to admit confusion, shame, or exhaustion. Josh works with Christian men age 18 and up who want to confront those concerns honestly.

Identity in Everyday Life

Identity in Christ

We consider how your understanding of identity in Christ relates to the way you evaluate yourself. Work, marriage, and ministry can carry meaning without becoming the only measure of your worth.

Guilt and Shame

Guilt about a choice and shame about who you are can become tangled together. Counseling makes room to name your responsibility without letting a familiar accusation describe your whole life.

Biblical Manhood

Questions about leadership, emotional honesty, and responsibility belong in this conversation. We connect those questions with the actual demands of home, work, and church rather than a performance you must maintain.

Clinical Care

Look at the belief behind the pressure.

Josh Reed, LPCC-S, uses CBT to examine the thoughts connected to emotions and choices. Psychodynamic counseling can explore recurring emotional patterns, while EMDR is a method he uses for trauma and painful memories. These clinical approaches sit within a biblical worldview; faith is taken seriously alongside the concern you bring.

Faith and Practical Work

Honesty belongs in the life you are building.

Spiritual growth can include acknowledging weakness and our need for Christ. We work toward practical changes in the way you handle guilt, speak in relationships, and respond to pressure. Prayer and scripture can enter the conversation as you want them included.

What Sessions Look Like

Individual appointments last 55 minutes, weekly or every other week. Men can meet in Dayton or by telehealth while located in Ohio. The first session includes what brought you in, your goals, and questions about how faith will fit into the work.

Insurance and the First Conversation

Bring fee and coverage questions to the free 15-minute consultation. Josh accepts five insurance plans, with benefits checked together before the first session. Private pay is available, and superbills may support possible out-of-network reimbursement.
