Self-Esteem
A familiar critical thought can feel like a fact about who you are. Counseling gives you room to examine it.
Who It Is For
When the Inner Critic Takes Over
You may dismiss what you contribute and hold onto every mistake, or compare your work, marriage, and faith with other people’s lives. Josh works with Christian men age 18 and up who want to understand those patterns. Self-esteem concerns can sit alongside anxiety, depression, shame, or questions of identity.
What We Examine Together
The Critical Thought
We identify the words you use against yourself after a setback. A specific thought, such as treating one mistake as proof of failure, gives CBT work a clear starting point.
Comparison and Pressure
Comparing yourself with another man can affect how you view your responsibilities and relationships. Counseling considers what you assume about him and what you conclude about yourself.
Shame and Responsibility
Acknowledging a choice is different from defining your entire worth by it. We work on taking responsibility while examining the shame that makes a difficult experience into a permanent verdict.

Clinical Care
Practical tools for answering the thought.
CBT looks at the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and actions. With Josh, you can consider what evidence supports a self-critical belief and what challenges it. The work includes practicing a more grounded response in everyday situations, rather than replacing every concern with a positive phrase.
Faith and Practical Work
Your worth deserves more than a comparison.
Identity in Christ informs the conversation about worth, guilt, and belonging. Josh pairs that biblical worldview with clinical care, including CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic counseling. Prayer and scripture can be included as you want them, alongside practical attention to the beliefs shaping your responses.
