Getting Started
How do I arrange the free consultation?
Request it online, or call (937) 210-9474 or email jreed@freedominchristcounseling.com to arrange a free 15-minute consultation with Josh. You can describe your concern and ask about starting counseling.
Do you see women individually?
No. Josh sees men age 18 and up individually and couples together. Women can participate in couples sessions with their partner.

Faith in Counseling
Do I have to be a Christian?
The practice is built for Christian men and couples who want their faith to be part of counseling. The free consultation is a place to ask whether that focus fits what you are seeking.
Will faith be pushed on me?
A biblical worldview informs Josh’s counseling, but scripture and prayer are brought into the conversation as you want them included. You can discuss your preferences and questions about faith in the first session.
Is this biblical counseling or licensed counseling?
Both. Josh Reed is an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation (LPCC-S). He combines a biblical worldview with evidence-based methods including CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic counseling.

Sessions and Formats
Can I meet in person or by telehealth?
Men can meet at 7039 Taylorsville Rd, Suite 13, Dayton, OH 45424, or by secure video anywhere in Ohio. For telehealth, you must be located in Ohio during the appointment.
How long is a session?
A men’s session or couples and marriage session lasts 55 minutes. The initial free consultation lasts 15 minutes.
How often will we meet?
Appointments are scheduled weekly or every other week. Practical tools give you work to bring into daily life between sessions.
Are couples sessions offered online?
No. Couples and marriage counseling is in person only in Dayton, with both partners attending together.

Insurance and Payment
What does counseling cost?
Fees are discussed during the free 15-minute consultation. Men’s counseling and couples and marriage sessions each last 55 minutes.
Do you take insurance or provide superbills?
Josh accepts Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Coverage depends on your plan. We check your benefits together before your first session. Private pay is also available, with superbills on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
What if I need to cancel?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full session fee.

Privacy
Where should I take a video appointment?
Choose a private room where you can speak without being overheard. Use a phone or computer with a stable connection, and remain in Ohio throughout the session.
