What Is Christian Counseling, and How Is It Different
Freedom in Christ Counseling
Christian counseling at Freedom in Christ Counseling brings licensed clinical care and a biblical worldview into the same conversation. You can address anxiety, marriage strain, or a compulsive pattern while discussing how your Christian beliefs inform the work. Josh Reed does not ask clients to choose between professional counseling and having their faith taken seriously.
01
What Christian Counseling Means Here
The question is about the counseling foundation, not a comparison with other practices. Josh works with Christian men age 18 and up and couples on emotional, relational, behavioral, and spiritual concerns. Identity in Christ, responsibility, and grace can be discussed alongside the worry, conflict, or hidden behavior that brought you to seek care.
02
Faith Has a Place in Specific Concerns
You might want to discuss guilt about pornography, questions of calling after a career change, or spiritual concerns within grief. Name that connection when you speak with Josh. Scripture and prayer can be included as you want. The work remains focused on your concerns rather than turning the appointment into a sermon or a test of faith.

Clinical Counseling With Biblical Grounding
Josh Reed, LPCC-S, is an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation, licensed since 2014. He uses CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic counseling. Those methods can examine thoughts and responses, trauma and painful memories, and recurring emotional patterns. His biblical worldview informs clinical work rather than replacing professional counseling with spiritual instructions.
