How Telehealth Counseling Works in Ohio
Freedom in Christ Counseling
Telehealth at Freedom in Christ Counseling is secure video counseling for individual men located in Ohio. It is not a couples format or an option for sessions outside the state. Josh provides the same clinical foundation of a biblical worldview and licensed counseling, while the meeting takes place by video instead of at the Dayton office.
01
Who Can Use Ohio Video Counseling
Josh’s individual work is for Christian men age 18 and up, including pastors and ministry leaders. Men may choose secure video anywhere in Ohio, provided they are physically located in Ohio during the session. You can ask about your concern before starting rather than assume that a video format changes who the practice serves or where care is offered.
02
Consider Whether the Format Suits Your Situation
You need a private place, an internet connection, and a device that supports video and sound. Ohio telehealth can make it easier to see a counselor outside your congregation’s town if you serve in ministry. Individual men can also choose in-person appointments at the Dayton office. Couples and marriage counseling remain in person in Dayton only.
03
The Clinical Foundation Stays the Same
Josh is an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation. He uses CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic counseling within a biblical worldview. Clinical discussion considers thoughts and responses, painful memories, and recurring emotional patterns when relevant. Faith, practical tools, and personal responsibility remain part of the counseling foundation rather than being separate from the clinical care.
How Josh Works04
Know the Session Facts Before Beginning
Men’s telehealth sessions last 55 minutes and meet weekly or every other week. The first includes what brought you in, goals, and faith fit. Practical tools are included between appointments. Your location requirement applies during each session, not just when you first contact Josh. No particular result or timeline is promised for video counseling or in-person care.

Ask About Coverage and Fees
Use the free 15-minute consultation for questions about telehealth, fees, and insurance coverage. Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare are accepted. Coverage depends on the plan and benefits are checked together before your first session. Private pay is available, with superbills on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed by the practice.

No. You must be located in Ohio during every telehealth session. The practice’s secure video option is for individual men anywhere within Ohio, not for out-of-state sessions.
Can my spouse join for couples telehealth?
Couples and marriage counseling are in person only at the Dayton office. The secure video option is for individual men, not couples attending a relationship counseling session.
