Is It Weak for a Man to See a Counselor
Freedom in Christ Counseling
Seeking counseling does not require you to prove that you have reached a particular level of struggle. Josh’s approach starts from honest weakness and our need for Christ. A man can acknowledge anxiety, anger, or disconnection while taking responsibility for how those concerns affect his everyday choices and relationships.
01
Honesty About What You Are Carrying
If you feel overwhelmed at home, work, or church, begin with that concern rather than an argument about whether you should be able to handle it. Christian men age 18 and up can bring emotional, behavioral, relational, and spiritual struggles to Josh. Pastors and ministry leaders may also discuss burnout and compassion fatigue.
02
A Role Can Be Difficult to Set Down
You may feel you are performing as a husband, father, or leader while avoiding questions about guilt, shame, or identity. Those are concerns Josh works on. Counseling can examine the gap between the role you are trying to maintain and the reactions or habits you want to address, without turning biblical manhood into another performance requirement.
03
Responsibility and Clinical Care Together
Josh is an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation. His biblical worldview is integrated with CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic counseling. Thoughts connected to self-criticism, painful memories, and recurring patterns can be considered. Practical tools and honest conversation are part of the clinical work, alongside questions of identity in Christ and responsibility for your choices.

Ask About Beginning Without a Performance
You do not need a polished explanation before contacting Josh. The free 15-minute consultation is a place for questions about individual counseling, fees, and insurance.
