Anger and the Man Underneath It
Freedom in Christ Counseling
Anger counseling can address a strong reaction and the patterns beneath it. You can take responsibility for a harsh response while asking what thoughts, emotional concerns, or recurring situations belong in the discussion. Josh works with men on anger and emotional regulation, including the ways those reactions connect to marriage or parenting pressure.
01
Describe the Reaction in Everyday Terms
Begin with what happens in a disagreement rather than a label for yourself. You might want to discuss the response you keep repeating or a conversation that regularly becomes conflict. Counseling can focus on that example. Examining the concern beneath anger does not excuse a hurtful reaction or transfer responsibility for your choices to someone else.
02
Relationships Give the Concern Context
Marriage conflict, fatherhood pressure, and carrying work and family responsibilities can be part of what you bring. Josh works with individual men and couples, not children directly. A father may address emotional regulation individually; spouses may discuss parenting conflict together. The concern you are seeking to address helps distinguish those two kinds of appointments.

Biblical Responsibility With Clinical Tools
Josh Reed is an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation. He combines a biblical worldview with CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic counseling. Thoughts and responses, painful memories, and recurring emotional patterns may be discussed. Practical tools and personal responsibility keep the work connected to actual reactions rather than only talking about the kind of man you want to be.

What the Sessions Can Focus On
The first 55-minute session includes what brought you in, your goals, and faith fit. Weekly or every-other-week appointments include practical tools between meetings. Individual Christian men age 18 and up can attend in Dayton or by secure video while located in Ohio. Couples address relationship concerns in person at the Dayton office only, with no promised result.

Beginning With Questions About Care
The free 15-minute consultation is where you can ask about anger counseling, fees, and coverage. Accepted plans are Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Benefits are checked together before your first session because coverage depends on the plan. Private pay and superbills on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement are available as alternatives to discuss.
